MINDY & MARK’S FIELD ENGAGEMENT SESSION – PHILADELPHIA ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

I don’t even know where to begin with Mindy & Mark. To me, they define love. The way they treat each other, the way they look at each other, everything. And let me tell you, working with a couple like that makes them SO DARN EASY to shoot. Like seriously, eaaaaasy. Plus they are two of the sweetest people ever and insanely creative (just wait until you see their Save-the-Date – ridiculously cute).

So, for the first part of their engagement session, we drove out to a beautiful field in the ‘burbs (engaged couples take note: acres of beautiful deserted pasture will never make a bad backdrop). In the distance, you can even see the vibrance of the leaves changing color. And for those of you wondering, yes, this is from a few months ago; I’m not making it up when I say I’m behind in my blogging – but you may recognize her shoes, so at least give me that credit.

The image below (on the left) might be one of my favorites ever. Funnier still if you witnessed the shouting and hand waving that was involved in capturing this shot. What can I say? I spare no embarrassment to get the shot right.

We even headed back to their house and snapped a couple of them enjoying a meal together (as seen above).
But, more on that to come! For now, I leave you with this…

TUESDAY SHOESDAY: WARM AND CUDDLY

I must say, in all my life I never imagined owning a pair of shoes that I’d describe as warm and cuddly. And then it happened: I got Ugg boots. These babies are double-lined with thick thermofleece.

They are designed for you actually to specifically not wear socks with them. And, let me tell you, that’s just my kind of shoe.

And, in defense of my choice, here’s Kim Cattrall proving that they can even be rocked with a wedding dress.

What’s not to love?

TUESDAY SHOESDAY: EDITION XI – SITTING PRETTY

I am going to be completely honest here. When I got up this morning, I didn’t really feel like writing a blog post. Normally, I love it. But some days, there are just those rare feelings of inadequacy, or writer’s block. Or, well, maybe a little of both. But then I remembered there are two things that I absolutely love about Tuesdays: (1) Qdoba Double Points Tuesday – if you don’t know about this, don’t find out or you’ll be sucked in…. mmmm nachos! (2) Tuesday Shoesday. And, since you likely have no desire for me to blog any more than I already have about my nacho addiction [I could dedicate a whole post to it, easily], that means it’s time for Tuesday Shoesday.

With that, I bring you, the fabulous Mindy and Mark. A sneak peek at their session and a glimpse at Mindy’s hot boots:

It’s no huge secret that I’ve been on the quest for boots for like, ever. Okay, maybe not forever forever but definitely as long as I’ve been in Philadelphia. And when I saw Mindy’s? I knew they were perfect. That rich leather. The warm chestnut color. Unfortunately for me, there’s no way I can rock a heel like hers for more than about five minutes. So, I began my search for the flat equivalent. So, ladies and gentlemen [or probably just ladies since I surely lost the majority of my gentleman readers when I mentioned this post would be about shoes rather than nachos], I bring you my perfect boot.

Thankfully, I got mine on sale. But, I didn’t take them off for easily a week. And, get compliments daily.
It’s only fair then that they get a post dedicated in their honor, no?

I never would pick these up in a store. I mean, if I were to be totally honest with myself. I just wouldn’t. Something about them. They’re understated. I wouldn’t know how to wear them. How not to wear them. Yet, as soon as I saw them on Rachel, I fell in love. I immediately got it. They don’t necessarily go with anything because they go with everything. They are casual. Comfortable. Beautiful. I bring you… the foldover boot.

TUESDAY SHOESDAY: EDITION V – THE COWBOY BOOT

Today I give a little southern nod for the cowboy boot. Growing up, I rode horses for years. We owned a few. Rode trails. Did competitions. And yet, I have never really considered myself a cowboy boot person. Until recently. The modern take on the cowboy boot of course being with an adorable dress. Bonus points if the dress is knee length.

And so, in doing my research for Tuesday Shoesday [What!? You didn't know there was thorough research involved in the depth of my posts?], I found that the cowboy boot has made quite a impact on the wedding world. And, while I haven’t myself been to a wedding with them included, that doesn’t mean I cannot fantasize over the cuteness that their involvement entails.

So, without further ado, I bring you the cowboy boot…
