Last week I had the incredible privilege to get to photograph one of the sweetest, most adorable babies on the planet [although in the interest of full disclosure, I might be a little biased]. At only thirteen months, Henry takes on the world like I have never seen before. With his eyes open wide he explores relentlessly. Laughs continuously. Heck, he even shares his food.

In watching him, I tried to experience the world through his eyes. The constant excitement. The new experiences. The fascination in little things. Simply wearing his grandfather’s hat would bring him instant pleasure. And then I realized, that if only we could all have a little child in us. Just a tiny fragment of that innocence – that optimism – the world would be an infinitely better place. See for yourselves…

Thank you Henry, for letting me see the world through your big blue eyes.
May you continue to inspire those around you as you grow into that big hat of yours.

Allison Cass - He’s as adorable in pics as he is in person!!! 😉

What a little heartbreaker! :)June 22, 2010 – 11:08 AM

Kari - Amanda, he is such a doll! And your pictures are amazing! Congrats love! I hope you are loving Philadelphia. :O)June 22, 2010 – 11:24 AM

Erica Nikolaidis - AH! This mixed gasp/sob sentiment is exactly how I felt after seeing the photos and reading your lovely blog entry. Hank is an excellent subject, but your skill as a photographer is what yielded such gorgeous photos that really capture the essence of him. My little man, joyously consuming (literally and figuratively) the world around him. Thanks so much, Amanda. BEST. AUNT. EVER.June 22, 2010 – 11:34 AM

Erinn - GAH, I am loooooving these! He is so sweet, and that messy baby hair, OMG. So precious!June 22, 2010 – 12:23 PM

deenik01 - OMG…these are adorable beyond belief. He is a great “subject” but your capturing him in such natural moments is so endearing. You have a great eye…and really got some awesome shots !!!
Thanks for capturing the memories !

So, today is the big day. My big secret is finally out! I am, and have been, doing photography for a while now. I have been blogging for a while too on here [though not regularly]. It is, afterall, hard to keep up with a blog that no one knows about. [Correction: Very few know about…. some of you did manage to figure me out!]. But, today is the day and I have been so excited I can hardly stand it. I actually have so much to blog about… including at least five more weddings. Among these, a traditional Cambodian ceremony with monks and all and a red and black punk rock reception. So fun!

But before I get ahead of myself, I encourage you to take a look around and explore my archives of work. To do so, go under the main menu and click on “CATEGORIES.” Today I also launched my snazzy new website… which features even more images and more information about the business. Please go take a look!

And, please be sure to add this blog to your Reader or subscription service… I have so much in store! Speaking of adding it to your Reader, when you do so you will notice that something is wonky – it says that half of my posts were posted on the same day and several of my posts from last year are missing. The bad news is that I have no idea how to fix this [except to say “check out my archives, please!”] but the good news is that everything seems to be running fine from here out [so future posts won’t have this problem]. But you don’t want to miss weddings like Laura & Michael’s so be sure to explore further back on here…

And, as always, let me know what you think!

P.S. While I have you here I would also like to take a moment to thank the amazing and incredibly talented Lindsey Tropf of Pure: Photography by Lindsey Tropf. While there have been so many people who have been so supportive with all of this – friends and family, thank you so much for everything – I truly owe my love of photography, my passion for capturing, and a vast amount of my knowledge to Lindsey, who has been the most amazing friend and mentor. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Lindsey!

Remember when I told you about how beautiful Krista was? Well, I wasn’t making it all up. I know you couldn’t see her face before, but here she is all adorably pregnant. Krista & George were such a dream to work with because she was the perfect glowing pregnant woman you always hear about but never see. And George? The perfect doting husband. Their baby, George Cameron or “Cam” will surely be one of the most precious. And, perhaps even better yet, will have two of the kindest, warmest, most genuine parents.

Krista & George, you all are going to be amazing parents. I cannot wait to see your beautiful baby boy and to see you grow as wonderful parents to him. He’s so lucky to have you both!

And one of the funniest outtakes of all time. Seriously. In case you were wondering, you weren’t supposed to see George’s face here. But man was I laughing when I saw it afterward!

Krista - I just saw these pictures, Amanda, and I love them!!! :) Thank you SO much!!! You are amazing!!! I’m very happy to announce that George Cameron “Cam” Garner was born on Sunday, May 23rd …. he’s adorable and doing well! :)May 25, 2010 – 12:25 PM

A few weeks ago, my very dear friend Erinn contacted me needing new headshots stat. Her new job at Uniquely Yours Events in Orlando, Florida had asked for a headshot and she was eager to oblige – but wanted to do so with something that was fun, fresh, and well, reflected her. Normally I would go several places and encourage multiple top changes for headshots [to maximize options] but Erinn’s needs were simple and she knew exactly what she wanted and had minimal time to make it happen. Something sunny. Something clean. And something her.

I think we managed to pull that off. Though with a subject this pretty I think it’s kind of hard to go wrong, no?

P.S. Apparently I’m really good at making Erinn laugh…

…and my absolute favorite. It’s so fun. So happy. So Erinn.

Erinn - AHHH, I just saw this. I love them all and you are sooo incredibly talented!!! I can’t believe how much I laugh, haha (there I go again). Love it and love you! xoxoJune 21, 2010 – 9:40 AM
