AND THEN THERE WERE FOUR

No, I’m not pregnant (much to many people’s dismay). Don’t be expecting that one for years and years and years a while. But, we did expand our family just a little bit more. Those of you who have read my blog for a while know that I have professed my utter obsession with my pup Kira. Some people affectionately use the term furbaby to describe how we feel about – and treat – Kira. And, I’d say that is pretty accurate. Well, friends, we now have another little munchkin to spread that love with.

We got her from Hope for Hannah Rescue. She is an 11-week-old, 13-pound, sweet, incredibly loving Corgi mix. And, she looks nothing like a Corgi. At least I don’t think so. She and her brothers were picked up from a shelter in Georgia where they were scheduled to be drowned the next day. Apparently that’s how shelters put down dogs when they can’t afford to euthanize them…? Isn’t that absolutely horrifying? And, especially if you knew how sweet, adorable, and loving these dogs are. I have so much thanks in my heart for the people who saved her and that we were able to contribute to rescuing her. She is beyond perfect.

Meet my dear sweet Adele (and yes, as you can faintly tell, that’s Kira standing over her):

And, our biggest concern was whether she and Kira would get along. Kira is a bit of an alpha dog since she’s been an only child her whole life. But, I’d say things are looking good so far…. (*fingers crossed it stays this way*).

So what about you guys? Do shelter puppies break your heart into millions of pieces like me? Or, do you have an obsession with your dog/s like we do? It’s borderline ridiculous; we’d really do anything for them.

Melanie Watson - Wow… she is precious! Yay for rescuing that sweet bundle of cuteness. Not to worry my friend… you are not alone in the crazy dog lover category. We are obsessed dog lovers too. :)September 14, 2011 – 4:02 PM

Becki - They are both so cute. I don’t have pets, as you know. But there is no denying that pets are family. Period.October 20, 2011 – 8:05 PM

Nicole - Um…that is just disgusting about the shelters…horrifying! I told my hubby..once we have a house..settled..we are rescuing a dog or two :) your pups are soo adorable and totally loved!October 26, 2011 – 9:34 PM
