TUESDAY SHOESDAY: EDITION VI – ORNATE AS THEY COME

Tell me these aren’t perfection. Go on. I dare you.

hot pink heel, platform heel, wedge heel, tuesday shoesday, ruffle shoe, satin pink shoe

Found via Weddingbee here.

I have to admit. They are kind of weird. But weird in a unique kind of way, not in an offbeat crazy way. Just different. First, I was shocked by them. Then I fell in love. The bright punchy color. The unexpected platform shape. The subtle layering of fabrics; they are not quite ruffles, but close. Honestly, the more I look at them the more drool I have to wipe off my desk. I love these babies down to the last over-the-top-hot-pink satin stitch.

So the good news? I know where they are from. The bad news? They sell them no longer.
For all those curious, they are made by the fabulous Australian brand Wittner.

Lucky for you, I put on my shopping hat [all good shoppers have one of these] and scoured the internet to find some almost-good-enough-but-not-quite substitutes for these babies. I have to admit though, they are hard to imitate. I think I came close on a few, but you are just not going to find something quite like it. Without further ado, my finds:

RSVP Monique in Fushsia – $94

Stuart Weitzman Women’s Gigiritz Pump – $164

Menbur Neit Peep Toe – $71

And my absolute favorite – though perhaps not the closest match -
what’s not to love about the peep toe and soft bow in front?

Pour La Victoire Bridal – $151

Do you have a favorite pair of ornate shoes? Or hot pink pumps?

Brit @ Landlocked Bride - LOVING the ruffles!August 3, 2010 – 11:13 AM

April Foster - They’re a little tall for me….but, I still love them!August 3, 2010 – 4:09 PM

Jenna Walcott - Can I just tell you that I think “Tuesday Shoesday” is the most brilliant thing ever conceived? From a fellow self-proclaimed shoe-addict, I salute you for making a day just. For. Shoes.August 5, 2010 – 10:15 AM

amandabyoung - Jenna – well thanks! You’re too funny. I wish I could take credit for being the creator… unfortunately it was someone far more ingenious than I with the idea. But it’s been fun to see it spread and spread and now there are lots of wedding blogs that do it. And, of course, I have to be honest that writing the posts isn’t so bad either. An even somewhat legit way to rationalize shoe-shopping as work? I’ll take it! ;) August 5, 2010 – 6:36 PM
